Welcome to GrowMama to those who have not visited before.
Here it is: the great vintage pink giveaway.
- Swing tunic top with cross-over back. Size one. (9 months to 18 months) Can be worn as a top with shirt underneath or in summer by itself as a sort of dress.
- and something for the mama: a shopping bag made from a vintage pillowcase. Worn over the shoulder, it has an inside pocket with velcro closure for your wallet, keys and phone.
-handmade card featuring pink/yellow floral vintage fabric.
GrowMama gear is lovingly handmade using high quality re-purposed and vintage new fabrics. It's all designed by me to be hardwearing, easy care, comfortable and fun. Each piece is unique.
Leave a comment to be in the running to win. I choose my favourite fifteen comments and they go into a hat. The smallest one in the household chooses the winner. There just might be a runner-up prize this year too.
Entries are open until December 17th -ish. (Give or take 12 hour time difference to the US). I am happy to ship internationally. I look forward to hearing from you! Feel free to have a wander through the GrowMama blog and enjoy Giveaway Day. If you haven't been involved before, click on over to the SewMamaSew blog (link on the right) and get browsing.
For those of you in the Auckland area i'll be at Crafternoon Tea market in Kingsland on Saturday from 10-3pm.
Right...the big question this afternoon is: Swim or Sew? I should be sewing but...it's a darn hot day and the beach is five minutes away....hmmm!

Anissa! All of these pieces are so beautiful. :) You know how I love vintage sheets!! ;) I love that the "smallest" one in the household chooses the winner. What a sweet way to involve the little ones. Have fun with your giveaway! I'm having my first ever one on my blog too this go round. Stop by if you like! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso - "Crafternoon Tea market"?! Would that I were anywhere remotely in your vicinity . . . that sounds totally sweet!
Lovely stuff, I would definitely go for the swim - always makes you feel so much better and then I find I am way more productive at the sewing machine
ReplyDeletesteveandmelissa@ihug.co.nz
Wow love your fabrics. I love following New Zealand blogs, much easier to relate to the writer. Now I'm off to look through your archives!
ReplyDeleteDamnation! I wrote a comment but can't have posted it properly :) Anywho, just said that I can't believe I haven't stumbled across your blog before as a big fan of NZ crafters (esp sewers seeing as I'm a complete novice). Love your pattern and fabric choices!
ReplyDeleteLooks like all the kiwi girls are here tonight!- another kiwi here. Great giveaway, and I am not ashamed to beg and say "pick me!" I have a huge weakness for the little cross over tops- just check out my littlest's wardrobe, lol.
ReplyDeleteHave added you to my reader list.
omg I absolutely love these little cross over dresses!!! they are gorgeous :D cute fabric too. this is a beautiful giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteincase I win :) my email is ekswhyzed_@hotmail.com
Very cute..love the recycled sheets :-) Thanks for a chance to win
ReplyDeleteI'd love the swing top for my granddaughter! I clicked over to see the top modeled and noticed I have the yellow flower vintage sheets in my closet! They are from my grandmother. They are very used, but hold so many memories.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
I know the perfect little girl for the swing top! My mom made these for me and my sisters.....well lets just say MANY moons ago!
ReplyDeleteI Love love love a bit of creative procrastination...though you can usually find me with my hand sewing work next to the pool on hot days. I'd drag my sewing machine out there if I didn't think the neighbors would protest. These are lovely items for the giveaway, thank you ofr the chance to win them. We love a bit of vintage!
ReplyDeleteLovely. Absolutely lovely.
ReplyDeletecheers xo
The top is beautiful, and so is little Ava. I would love to see it on my little niece. The bag is super cute too. What a fabulous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love this tunic
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to win

I would be sewing...we have an inch of snow on the ground and it is way below freezing and windy. It is toasty and warm inside tho...and I'm not even sewing! I am discovering all these fabulous new blogs to read!! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletelee_nicholas@hotmail.com
Both fabrics are gorgeous. I'm addicted to vintage linens. They've become a favorite source of fabric for me.
ReplyDeleteThat tunic is adorable! It would be perfect for my new daughter (9 months old!) who just got home from Ethiopia 3 weeks ago. She looks so cute in pink! I'll be crossing my fingers that I win!
ReplyDelete:)
Thanks for the great giveaway,

what a lovely giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the SewMamaSew giveaway days too!!! Ok, your sew vs. swim predicament sure is a tough one: those are 2 things I LOVE to do! I'm glad I don't have to make that choice - I'm stuck at home in a blizzard right now! Greetings from snowy, blustery Canada!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win such lovely prizes!
Oh Anissa I'd so love to win something made by you! Annie would look stunning in that wee dress, yes she would :) and it would warm my heart to know you made it.
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs and Merry Christmas to you.
Love deb xxx
ps I found your blog last year through the SMS giveaway, I'm so glad i did xxx
ReplyDeleteThese are so gorgeous! I think you should go for a swim, then take a nap. :) I wish it was warm here instead of snowy. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could hear your blog post instead of just reading it! I could listen to an Aussie accent all day. I have a friend here in the US who is spending some extended time over there, but he hasn't picked up an accent yet. booo.
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics you've chosen for your prizes are lovely and my little Arielle is 13 months and would be beautiful in that top. :)
I love the pictures in your blog, all that family way to live seams very nice to me.
ReplyDeleteI think there are great prizes.
I have a giveaway too, hope you'll like my blog too.
I love the prints you chose. You know, I tried to make something out of a recycled pillow case and I was so inspired by it because it was super soft, green and had a decorative multigreen edge. I decided to make a soft turtle toy, and even though it was my first time making a pattern it came out really well, and I was so excited, but as I stuffed it, it ripped! Ridiculous old pillow case.
ReplyDeleteIt's alright though, I have since made many many more turtles and might even open an etsy shop to sell them! (Head over to my blog to see the original soft green pillowcase turtle.)
What great items!!! I especially love the little dress. I know just the girl who would look adorable in it! P.S. - My birthday is December 17th, so this would be an incredible birthday present!
ReplyDeleteplease please please please go and have a swim in the sea for me!!! The first lot of snow has only just melted and they are predicting more for later in the week! Snow is only fun for the first day or if you live in any other part of the world - here in the UK we can't cope and all the snow, schools, shops and motorways all close and nothing moves!
ReplyDelete(although it is mighty pretty!
Sweet pink giveaway! I have only a boy in my house, but can still appreciate pink. Your fabric choices are gorgeous, especially since some of it is REPURPOSED! Here's to pink repurposed shopping bags (love the vintage fabric card, btw) and cute little girlie tops. I'll be making myself one of those someday, I'm sure. A little girlie, I mean. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the generous giveaway.
I so absolutely love the little swing top! My little gal is sick now (bronchialitis, pinkeye, and ear infection) and though she is only 7 months old, I do think she would jump for joy (despite being rather ill) if she found out she won this top. Really, I will send you a pic of her jumping for joy. She likes to jump when she's happy. And by Friday, she should be feeling well enough to jump for joy too!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I will jump for joy if you swim for us cold Canadians.
Very nice! The top would fit my youngest and be adorable on her and the bag would be great for me. :)
ReplyDeleteOh the fabric from the mama bag is beautiful, unfortunately my 4yo girl is too big for the smock (I love these smocks). But count me in for any runner's up prizes and please stop by my giveaway for some floral jewelry. Thanks for hosting a giveaway, I'm glad I got to meet so many new bloggers.
ReplyDeletePretty pink loveliness!
ReplyDeleteI'm participating in the Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day! I hope you have time to stop over and enter my giveaway at homemakerhoney.com

ReplyDeleteThese are so darling. I would love to win this, or even get the pattern to make one myself.
ReplyDeletekbochniak@hotmail.com
so pink, so cute, so vintage ! I love your giveaway !
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are delicious! Remind me of cotton candy in the summer. mmmmmmmmm My little bunny would look ADORABLE wearing that, and I would love to have the bag. Thank you for the great giveaway!

I'd like to win this to gift it to a mother and baby friend of my daughters!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, those are both gorgeous! I would love to give the cute little top to one of my good friends. She has a new baby girl and it would be just perfect for her. The bag I would selfishly keep for myself, it is lovely. I'm all about vintage and love the print, it's just perfect!

So cool! You gotta love pink right?! It's so nice to see some talent from NZ around the web. I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope to win!
ReplyDeleteArabella
It has been really hot here too (Australia) so a swim would be nice!
ReplyDeleteOh - I love these! My daughter is just about 9 months old, so this would be perfect for springtime and summer style for us both!
ReplyDeletejane.e.mckinzie@gmail.com
What a lovely little dress and just the right colours for my darling littlest grandgirl! Such a great idea, to re-purpose vintage pillowcases - I won't be looking at my linen cupboard in quite the same way again. In fact, I'm sure I used to have blue pillowslips very similar to the pink material in your bag.
ReplyDeletesuch cute stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat tunic top is just gorgeous, and I have an adorable little one who would love to wear it. If I win, I promise to follow your blog forever! (Although I think I will probably follow it anyway).
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thanks for doing such a great giveaway for Sew Mama Sew!! I love that tunic and would love to dress my daughter in it! Adorable little model too!
ReplyDeleteJenn
jaikok(at)yahoo(dot)com
What a gorgeous color you have chosen! So beautiful. As are, of course, what you have made with it. I have a new little niece who would look adorable in the tunic and a new Mama who would love the bag to go with! Hope I get a chance to win it for them. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI love that little tunic dress. Lucie, my daughter is 10 months, and she would look smashing in it! Okay, she would look perfect in just about anything...I'm a big fan of hers. :)
I'm never one to say no to a new bag, either.
Also, I LOVE the tree bunting you did the other day! I am on a HUGE bunting kick...I'm hoping to make one for her first birthday. We'll see how that goes!
kennedycraft (at) aol (dot) com
I just had the sweetest niece born and she would be so sweet in this! (I have 3 boys so I gotta get my girl fix though my sisters kids! :D)
ReplyDeleteTHanks for the chance to win. :)
Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love the shopping tote for myself! I am getting married in a month and need to get used to grocery shopping on a regular basis with a hungry husband-to-be. I wouldn't mind shopping with this thang! Too cute... Thanks :) cthompson4@liberty.edu
ReplyDeleteUm I would be all over the swimming if it's hot and the beach is close. I LOVE to swim, but then again I LOVE to sew. Hard choice unless it's unbearably hot, then swim any day! I love the pink. I have 1 boy and a cute little nieces that would love the wrap dress. I of course love the pink bag :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe how perfect this would be. We are expecting a new granddaughter in Feb. and her mom's favourite colour is pink! Thanks.

Wow - another amazing NZ blog ... off to town tomorrow to the Salvation Army store to see if I can re-claim some vintage pillowcases and sheets!
ReplyDeleteonikey (at) hotmail (dot) com
So cute! My best friend just had a baby girl, and I've accepted the job of Auntie and am having unexpected fun collecting little girl things for her.
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought about using the pillowcase, but that is such a great idea. And the crossover top is really cute. I would love to get it, since two of my cousins are pregnant; hopefully at least one will have a little girl. Especially since one of the couples swear that if they have a boy, they will name it Gastropod Plantain...the scientific name for the Banana Slug.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
embyrfire(at)hotmail(dot)com
OK I would love to win this prize. I have to say I love the look I see on blogs all the time made from vintage sheets and such but I can never find any that look anywhere as nice as the ones I see on blogs lol.
ReplyDeletesew glad to have found you! i just made my first ever clothing item (after just recently starting to sew)...smock tops for my girls who wanted a sewing birthday party (their bday is the same day and they both like sewing as much as I do - we are learning together!!)...can i just say I realize how much work into that gorgeous top? can I also say that I have totally embraced pink thanks to my girls!!...and that being a bag lover this bag needs to be added to my collection of cheesy but falling apart canvas sacks!!
ReplyDeleteand that I will regularly visit this blog of yours!!
and that i am babbling cuz I am staying up too late looking at all the inspiring giveways (well, NOT all!!)
and that I think it is great you are letting your kids help choose the winner!
blessings and thanks for your efforts to help save the world! i am with you!

Terrific items you are giving away. Love the "upcycling" aspect. This is my new word this week - I had never come across it before but now I have I think it perfectly describes this.

What a delightful giveaway! I'm pouting a little that my daughter won't fit into the adorable dress, but a good friend of mine has an almost one year old that this would be perfect for. I love bags and haven't yet made a grocery bag. It's on the list, but somehow just keeps being pushed to the bottom. This one would be great and oh so stylish. Thank you so much for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteGosh, how lovely, I know a pretty little girl who would fit perfectly into that gorgeous dress.
ReplyDeleterubyandme1 at gmail dot com
What a cute dress!
ReplyDeleteI love that the smallest person is picking the winner!!
Ava looks gorgeous in her Swing tunic top.
ReplyDeleteOh I say swim.... it could rain tomorrow.... then you could sew!
ReplyDeleteThe fabric on the tunic is the most beautiful fabric I have seen in a long time!
Thanks for being willing to give it away.
Ally <'v'>
Hi, Anissa, I'm new to your blog. New Zealand is one of the places I'd love to visit.
ReplyDeleteLove your giveaway!
Have a nice day. It's a cold day on this side of the World.

Beautiful dress and bag! You would make 2 ppl. very happy at my house!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say swim. Right now in Nebraska I am freezing. It is a lovely 7 degrees F out. Being out in the warm water / air sounds soooo good. Besides, there is always time to sew in the evening!
What a wonderful idea!
ReplyDeleteNothing better than a handmade gift!
God bless you.
Kind regards from Germany.

Our youngest family member has arrived yesterday...our little Fabienne :-)
I have to be in the top 15 people?? WOW! I don't think I am that interesting! I do love the bag, so cute!! I don't have any girls :( but I have a brand new niece! I bet her mommy would love this! And then it would be a perfect Christmas gift!!! Lets see.....something interesting....for breakfast I ate 3 cupcakes :D One with chocolate frosting and 2 without frosting.
ReplyDeleteI am having a giveaway too!! Come check it out if you like. http://hendrixville.blogspot.com/
Oh, these are absolutely beautiful items! I really love vintage linens. It's been so hard to find any pretty ones where we live now. (Recent transplants to the desert.)
ReplyDeleteI think I might just be in love with the pinafore. :) I remember wearing them when I was little and have always thought that they're about the cutest thing a little girl can wear. My daughter is *thisclose* to being the right size, too. :)
Thank you for taking part in the giveaway and for sharing your goodies with the rest of us. :)
I made a top just like that before my little girl was born. It was one of my first clothing sewing projects in a long time - and it didn't turn out very well! But she got some use out of it, and it would be great to have this one that would fit her this summer! Very nice stuff! Thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeletecmgedge at hotmail dot com
So beautiful! I have a pile of sheets just waiting to be repurposed! Thanks for doing this!
ReplyDeleteThe pinafore would be the perfect size for my granddaughter to wear next summer on vacation at the beach!
ReplyDeleteMy 2 year old thinks this would be perfect for her new sister. "bebe sert" (baby shirt) she called it. So from our smallest (for a couple more months) to your smallest... "tank ooo!!"
ReplyDeleteThere once was a girl from the states.
ReplyDeleteShe loved to sew more then skate.
Her daughters name should have been kate.
But that would have made daddy irrate.
... don't know where that came from. I really love both the bag and the top. Crossing my fingers on them. :) Thank you for the chance to win!
simply.simon.sisters(at)gmail(dot)com
hi !
ReplyDeletei was just about to leave a comment about that very cute dress, nice fabric, lovely model etc ... but now that i'm at the end of the page i just saw the photo of you and your child and read your text and ... how can i say ... i feel so close with those words "Growing into being mama" and " Letting my son remind me" ... that's it !
thanks for that and happy sun to you :)
gaelle ( bioche(at)laposte.net )
What a gorgeous dress/top!!!! And the bag and card are fabulous too! I have 2 tiny nieces (Ara bean and Abi girl) who would look amazing in it! (one gets the others hand-me-downs as they're 4 months apart). Thanks so much for the opportunity! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Thank you!
ReplyDeletebridgestranslation at yahoo dot com
I love all the pinks. Pink is in the running for favorite color around here, although if you ask my 4 year old daughter what her favorite color is the answer is often. Pink! Purple! Red! Orange! I love all the colors! She is a rainbow girl.
ReplyDeletejshen37 at gmail dot com
I can't wait until my baby girl can wear dresses/tunics like that!
ReplyDeleteI definitely vote for swim. It's crazy humid here in Brisbane. With 2 under 2, getting in the pool isn't an option during the day. When hubby finally gets home, it's witching hour/bedtime and I collapse in bed. It's so frustrating having a gorgeous pool and not being able to get in on a hot day.
OK, my cousin is having her third baby and is positive it's a boy because she "feels different" than she did with her first two (girls). I would love to prove her wrong (just because it sounds so dumb to say that) and give her this for Christmas as a sign that she's having a girl. Mean cousin I am. :)
ReplyDeleteI love using pillow cases to create new things. You should stop past my giveaway too... lots of up cycled goodies!!
ReplyDeletexo Steph
I love the crossover tunic, but unfortunately my little one is a little too big these days. The bag is just gorgeous. Big fan of florals :) Love the photos on your blog.
ReplyDeleteLove from Newcastle, Australia.

I love the crossover tunic. I loved Xanadu growing up and now my kids love it because I do. I am getting a kick out of thinking of my daughter in that adorable top with a pair of roller stakes on grooving out to Olivia Newton John singing :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have any children yet, but I think winning this sweet tunic and bag in lovely vintage prints would motivate me to start trying!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super cute giveaway! Love the crossover design!
ReplyDeletelove your blog - the tree bunting looks so cute!
Woot! Woot! Cute loot!
ReplyDeleteYour little tunic and shopping bag are a giveaway worthy of awesome sauce!
♥Duff
Beautiful top and bag. I love the cross over design.
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely go for the swim. You have to get your swimming in while you can. Plus, it'd be so much fun for the little one. You can always sew, but swimming time has a limit. Enjoy it while you can!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Such sweetness! I would love to win your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteCute top, bag and blog! My toddler started dancing when this came up so I think that must be a good sign?
ReplyDeletewell, i can't swim so i'm biased...i'd pick sewing :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fabulous giveaway!

That bag is amazing -- isn't it funny how modern the vintage fabric looks? Reminds me of several lines I have seen out. Love the versatility of the tunic idea as well. Thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteMy mother made me one of those dresses when I was little... it's now on my Cabbage Patch Kid :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny to hear about how hot it is there while we were just hit with a massive snow storm. Can you enjoy the water then sew a bit? Best of both worlds.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a great giveaway. I love the bag!
