I'll be profiling or taking a peek into various cool businesses, products and places aroundabout here.
We're talking eco-minded, progressive smaller endeavours, with a definite more'ish quality. How to define the boundaries of what is local to me? I'm going to take liberties there. Even if you don't live around here, we can all do with a dollop of inspiration and a dose of voyeurism into
someone else's heartfelt worklife, no?!
If you need to buy something, shop local and give your money where it'll count...give it to the good people! Support local goodness.
A few weeks ago I met up with a friend at a local cafe. We are both keen vintage folks so imagine our delight when, right next door to the cafe, was a new vintage store!
I bring you: Deco 2 Retro...
Karen opened the doors to Deco 2 Retro a few months ago and it's a pleasure to wander around.
Pretty much vintage anything can be found there. Yes, those swans too.
You couldn't ask for a better venue...3 Tomo Street in New Lynn, kinda borderline to Titirangi and Glen Eden. And next door to Humbug cafe - purveyor of a very fine cup of coffee and the best gluten free brownie in the West.
Karen and her partner spent months on an epic roadtrip around the states in a truck picking up vintage deliciousness where and when they could. How cool is that?! You can still pick up some of the vintage american items they shipped back to NZ..there's an amazing handstitched Amish quilt...but they are going quick.
This is definitely a store to put on the 'must stop by' list. xx
