lego build challenge: for a good cause

Need something fun to do with the kids? New Zealander's are on mid term school holidays at the moment and we found the perfect activity. AND it's for a good cause.

Habitat for Humanity has partnered with Lego to establish an annual Build Challenge. Go to the Build Challenge website to register and find a Habitat Build event near you until the 12th October, or you can join in at home and upload your creation yourself until the 20th October. There are lego prizes to be won. And more importantly, it's raising awareness of the fabulous work Habitat for Humanity do, both in New Zealand and internationally.
Jed signed up for a build session at our local ReStore. Habitat for Humanity's thrift store. Good fun. I love how different all the kids creations were. Jed's was in a 'hot, tropical climate so it is open air, but sheltered from monsoon and had the sea (to collect kai moana so they always had enough to eat)'. Good times.

Please spread the word. Tell your friends and family!

Something Jed pointed out about the Habitat for Humanity Build Challenge characters, Harry and Holly: 'I like how the girl is not all in pink and frills but is just herself. She looks up for it.'
I like that kid's brain! And Habitat's advertising people.
