I hadn't been to one of our local markets for awhile. So glad I went. It was just that welcome blast of colour, friendly folk, good food and inspiration I needed. Titirangi Market, even though Auckland is awash in markets, you are still a great morning!
These hand dyed and printed fabrics brought over from India by Amanda, of Provenance. Her stall drew me into the hall quick smart I can tell you. Some of those carved printing stamps made their way back home with me. Can't wait to try them out. I am keen to have a go at carving something longer lasting than the potato prints I have been using.
These gorgeous things. The bird ones are a new design by a jewellery maker specialising in upcycled materials. Glass and vintage ceramics especially. I am ashamed to admit that I lost her card and, despite seeing and chatting to her at countless events over the years, AND her being super duper lovely, I have forgotten her name. Honestly. I hereby swear I will try and sleep more. Sheesh.
And this. Because how can I not love all that colour on a winters day. Bright colour and felted pom poms no less. There is something very Pip Lincolne about those rugs. She did a tutorial awhile back for Frankie Magazine. Not heard of Pip? Eek. Remedy that immediately, she is the sweetest craftiest hoot out. Reader, meet PIP and her pom pom rug.
Next up: those outtakes I promised from the Element Magazine photo shoot. (Speaking of hoots!) x
