We studied bridges the other day. We looked at the different structures of bridges, what shapes give the best stability, bridges around the world and through history. Then I set Jed a challenge. He likes a challenge. He needed to build a bridge to get the wizard across a raging river full of human-eating alligators, piranha and a big whirlpool. The bridge needed to bear wizards weight. No sagging! You can't see any of the mechanics of his bridge...but you'll have to take my word that it was an interesting approach and after a tweak or two, worked a treat. The wizard avoided all perils. Phew.
Next time we'll do this down at the stream with whatever materials we find to hand. That'll be a good challenge!
Favourite clip of the day? Meghalaya's living bridges...just incredible.
